Meaning: This method of leadership doesn’t always work for us because we don’t know a person well enough so as to find the right example who he/she can completely identify with. Thus, the person we are trying to teach by example cannot fully see his/her self in another person (be this a role-model or a bad example). “We are not the same. There is no comparison”, is what the person we are trying to teach ends up feeling.
God, on the other hand, knows us very well. He is able to open our eyes to see ourselves in others. At the same time, God is also able to reveal who He is to us and who we truly are. So, we are then able to identify ourselves with others and with God and make a comparison.
